In Memoriam: Dr. John Jairo Hernandez
Dr. Hernandez, who joined ESTERN Medical CRO Life Sciences in 2007 as a cofounder, brought with him a wealth of expertise derived from an illustrious career in clinical, academic, and clinical trials research in the fields of Neurosurgery, Magnetic Imaging, and Pain Management.
Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Professor at the School of Medicine and serves as the Director of Medicine Pain Management and Clinical Research at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia, amassing over two decades of experience in these domains.
In his capacity as a Senior Clinical Consultant and Key Opinion Leader, Dr. Hernandez plays a pivotal role in guiding and shaping the strategies of prominent industry leaders such as Medtronic, Grünenthal AG, Schering AG, Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer. His influence extends to the realms of clinical pharmacology, medical device pain management, and neurology.
Dr. Hernandez is actively engaged in clinical and research endeavors, contributing as a Key Opinion Leader and distinguished speaker within academia and the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. His wealth of knowledge is exemplified through numerous publications in clinical journals and medical books, primarily focusing on CNS and Pain Management.
Dr. Hernandez earned his medical degree from the prestigious Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia. He further honed his expertise by completing his internship and residency training in Neurosurgery at the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia. Subsequently, he pursued postgraduate studies in the vertebral column and spinal medulla pain management in France at La Timone in Marseille. His third postgraduate training was dedicated to Neuro-Imaging in MRI at the Instituto de Resonancia Magnética Biomagnética in Caracas, Venezuela.
